Day 4 of yellowstone, and LOTS of other pictures there!

Day 4 was alot of driving, but still good. We started out the day by going to Yellowstone Lake. It was HUGE! We went to what as called the "thumb" of the lake. It was only I think an 1/8 is what I was told of the whole lake! It was so pretty and so big! But where we were was so neat cause there were geysers in the water just behind the shoreline of the lake. It was sure neat to see. It was odd though thinking there was a hot water geyser there in the lake. There were also very hot geysers all along the other side of the boardwalk away from the shoreline. Some were so blue they looked like pools..but they sure weren't! We drove all the way alone one side of the lake to make our loop. We stopped at a spot to see if joe could fish and catch something, but alas none! As we continues our loop we stopped at what was called the Mud Volcano. It was a small muddy geyser/crater thing. Cause it bubbles and is hot muddy water like a geyser, but it's a volcano that blew out, not up, but just exploded all around it. I wouldn't want to be around if it ever did it again. Since our site seeing ended earlier then we thought we headed back to the firehole swimming hole for the rest of the afternoon. It was tons of fun. I forgot my camera yet again. I'll have to see if I can get the video Kara took of us jumping in the river and riding the rapids back to the swimming hole. Austin's camera is waterproof and he took a video while jumping in, might have to get that one too. Over all the whole thing was a blast! Sorry for the picture overload on this post... :D :D

I had to get a sign of Montana, proving the I really did go there. :) I missed the one as we came over the Idaho/Montana border, so I got this one coming out of Yellowstone, WY into West yellowstone, montana. :D

Yellowstone lake

The kids and I on the walkway by the lake.

They was an extremely hot geyser. Looks like pool water.. but it's not!

The whole family that went to yellowstone!

Another geyser in the lake just above the surface.

A geyser in the water.

Shadows..sorry. But Isaiah and I infront of the "thumb" of yellowstone lake.

A geyser right by yellowstone lake.

Riley at Yellowstone Lake.

I had to take this picture of the grate. It was in the parking lot of the mud volcano. There was HOT steam rising from it and you could hear the water bubbling down underneath. The heat and sulfer just melted it! It was neat.

This one was called the Dragons cave or something like that. It smelled awful but was pretty neat to listen to and see. Cause the water kept being pushed out and in and it sounded like a dragon.. it really was neat besides the smell.

This was the Mud Volcano. It smelled AWFUL!

So the story on this guy was on during our fourth day at yellowstone. We had stopped for lunch along the yellowstone river, and right as we pulled up to a picnic area he charged right thru, right past Kara and Clints car and the rest of us were oblivious! A lady at the next table come over and told us he had be restless trying to get away from the river cause he's been there so long, and so he just ran right thru just as we pulled up. It was scary, we stayed in and close to the cars til he moved farther away.

The petrified tree. You wouldn't believe how many people there were...

Another place around Mammouth.

Isaiah and I at Mammouth Hot Springs Terrace.

This is a picture of roaring moutain. I forgot it in one of my other posts!

A geyser around the Old Faithful walkway. Angela said that when it erupts it goes up and out to the sides.

Isaiah took this picture for Angela's dad. :) she told us that he always had to stop and take pictures of the flowers...

I had to take a picture of the stairs under the stairs. Before they put in the metal staircase they had cut steps out of the rock and had rope ladders that they used to get down! SCARY! But still neat to see!

on our way down the staircase to see the lower falls from the opposite side. It was 328 steps!

On our way back up the stairs!

A waterfall we stopped at up some canyon, I don't remember which one.. I think Firehole Canyon.

Buffalo...

This is the infamous elk. He was always in the same spot every day just hanging out. I got some good pictures of him. :)

Kaylynn and I at the lower falls the first day

Isaiah likes these kind of pictures, but Kaylynn was asleep and he was holding her so he couldn't stand behind, so we had Austin do it. :)

A few of us at Geyser Basin.

I took a picture of Kaylynn and Riley demanded a picture of him too!

Riley after demanding his picture be taken. He was watching a movie.

I know I've been to Idaho a thousand or more times, but since this was a special trip I wanted to take pictures of the signs of each state we entered. :D

On our way up to West Yellowstone Montana!

We stayed at my Aunt Donna's house the sunday before we went to Yellowstone, and my Great grandma Golightly lives with her. This is my dad's grandma. I have a 5 generation picture with her when Riley was a baby, but I wanted a picture of her with my kids! Riley wouldn't cooperate, but oh well!

Yellowstone Day 2 and 3 (more pictures to come)

Everything will kind of be backwards but here it goes!

Today we started out by going to Mammouth Hot Springs, and Tower Falls. We also decided to stop on the South rim of the Upper and Lower Falls that we visited Tuesday. Mammouth was pretty neat. Lots of calcified rock from springs and geysers (I learned how to spell the word:D) It was pretty smelly but way neat. Riley liked to reach down off the walkway and try to see how warm the water was. Kaylynn was just glad to be out of her carseat. We stopped at the little town called Mammouth Hot Springs as well. There were tons of cow elk in just hanging out eating grass. A small spike and lots of cows and calves. We stopped off at Tower Falls after that and saw the waterfall. Not nearly as good as the Upper and Lower Falls in the Canyons but neat still the same. Then on our way to the South rim of the Falls, we got stuck in a line and we asked a woman walking down the road what is was, cause we'd been stopped for forever for COW ELK. Boring! She told us it was a Grizzley Bear and her 2 cubs!! Lucky us! It was so neat! I got some good pictures! It was neat. Once we got to the Falls we got more pictures and then hiked down a trail and then down the mountain side of 328 steps too see the Lower falls. It was easier coming down then going up that I can tell you! But it was SO SO worth the view!

Family at Mammouth, the wind has blown every day!

A Random waterfall on the way to Mammouth.

Raging Moutain. Isaiah loves these signs.
Yesterday we started out at Old Faithful and made our way around there to see all the smaller geysers as well. We just saw tons of geysers yesterday I can't even remember half of them! LOL But It was neat to see them shoot up and spray all that water. The color of the water in alot of them is so neat. The color variations is from bacteria. Its neat. And the brighter blue the hot spring or geysers the HOTTER the water. It was pretty cool. We did end the day at a place called FireHole River. It's called that cause water from a geyser pours into the river making it warmer then normal. We went to a swimming hole and I forgot the camera, but it was way neat. We went swimming at like 6 pm and it was nice and warm. You can swim, well swim isn't the right word, you can hold on to the rocks and climb and make your way to a spot were you can jump in the current and float all the way back down to the pool. It was fun. Scary but fun!

Family at a geyser, wind blowing again!

A geyser, notice how blue? It was VERY hot!

This hot spring was right by the river, we were able to get right down by it and take picctures. No one else went that far down the trail. Isaiah said it was so hot he could barely touch it! Look at it BOIL!

Geyser Water Pouring into Firehole River.

We stopped for a rest and it happened to be at a picnic table. This little chipmunk wouldn't leave us alone. It was so cute. We knew what it wanted. :D But alas we had no food with us. But we got some really close up pictures of him.

Isaiah and another one of his signs.

This geyser was called Morning Glory. It used to be bright bright blue, but the sign said it has not been blue that blue anymore because of people throwing things into it and clogging up the hole at the bottom with the sulfer and hot water coming thru it. It was still neat to see.

Another geyser that used to shoot almost 250-300 feet high but it is not unpredictable.

A hot spring at the Old Faithful walk around.

Another geyser. Notice the color difference?

Family infront of a cone shaped geyser.

Another geyser/hot spring.

Isaiah and I infront of a geyser.

OLD FAITHFUL! She doesn't blow as high or as often as she used to.

A Guiyser at Guisyer Basin
Well our first day out in Yellowstone Park was fun! our first stop was Guiyser Basin. Lots of guiysers and it was smelly like sulfer. It was neat to see the different colors and the water boiling. It was HOT. There was always steam coming out. My camera died half way thru it so I didn't get a picture of the red colored one and the muddy ones. It was neat. Our second stop was the Lower Falls. Which falls I don't know just Lower falls is all that I know. It was crazy! When I get home I'll upload the video of the river and the bottom and such. It was deep clear beautiful water, and FAST! The falls were crazy! Then we went around and saw a few animals and then went to the Upper Falls. It was so neat from far away and up close. But I was so tired from all the hiking and such. Plus I managed to get sick yesterday. So I got tired quite quickly. Oh well. Fun stuff. More to come tomorrow!

Yellowstone!

Well our first day and we're here in Yellowstone! I can now say that I've been to Montana! We're still here and though I have tons of pictures they will follow! I'm just excited to be here. Both kids did good in the car, and it really didn't seem to take too long from Logan. We stopped at my Uncle Eldon's Elk Farm in Whitney ID too so those pictures will come too! I'm excited for the week!

Nail Tech and update

So I think it's pretty offical. I'm going back toschool to becme a nail tech for right now. I need a few more models to work on once school starts. So if you're interested let me know! I do them now too. I do mostly myself and a few friends, but if you want them done I will for sure do them for pretty cheap! During school I'm unsure if I have to charge for product or not, but I'd love to do them either way!

As for the family, the kids went thru another round of a cold. Well more then that I should say. Kaylynn got tonsilitis and a sinus infection and was teething at the same time. Her nose is still running. But she's doing better. Riley ended up with bronchitis again and another ear infection. I swear I haven't had a break from the dr for them accept like March and April. I hope the rest of the summer they don't get sick anymore! But they are both growing constantly and doing well for the most part. I'm very grateful for them!

Isaiah is going to be starting a trial period of working on shift and only switching weekends to weekdays for 6 months! I'm very happy about it cause it's a day shift! He's been working graves and I HATE them! It's been rough, but only 1 weeks left of them!

2 weeks from today we leave on our vacation to Yellowstone! I'm so excited! I've never been. It's going to be so so much fun! That'll probably be the next post I blog about! Otherwise everything else is normal day to day!
